This latest executive order will allow the soviet socialists in our local communities through their committees to adopt and enact United Nations regulations designed to establish absolute United Nations’ control over our every resource. The laws of the United States, individual states, counties, cities, and local municipalities, under our Constitution must be legislated. These executive orders bypass the legislative process and essentially nullify our representative form of government under the guise of allowing us to voice our opinion in reference to new regulation rather than enforce our will through elected representation.
o GAO: Recoverable Oil in Colorado, Utah, Wyoming 'About Equal to Entire World’s Proven Oil Reserves' By Terence P. Jeffrey - The Green River Formation, a largely vacant area of mostly federal land that covers the territory where Colorado, Utah and Wyoming come together, contains about as much recoverable oil as all the rest the world’s proven reserves combined, an auditor from the Government Accountability Office told Congress on Thursday. The GAO testimony said that the federal government was in “a unique position to influence the development of oil shale” because the Green River deposits were mostly beneath federal land. ...It also noted that developing the oil would have an environmental impact and pose “socioeconomic challenges,” that included bringing “a sizable influx of workers who along with their families put additional stress on local infrastructure” and “making planning for growth difficult for local governments.” ...“Being able to tap this vast amount of oil locked within this formation will go a long way to help to meet our future demands for oil. The U.S. Geological Survey, as you noted, estimates that the formation contains about 3 trillion barrels of oil of which half may be recoverable,” she said. “As you can imagine having the technology to develop this vast energy resource will lead to a number of important socioeconomic benefits including the creation of jobs, increases in wealth and increases in tax and royalty payments for federal and state governments,” she said.

They view it as a “personal choice.” Even those who may have had some Christian training as a child have forgotten what happened to Sodom and Gomorrah. They are unlikely to hear it in church, because “nice” folks don’t talk about things like that. Well, maybe it’s time to do just that. Whether we like it or not, the story of Sodom and Gomorrah was considered important enough by God to devote space in the Scriptures for it. He preserved the account for centuries —all to make sure we knew what He thinks of people who behave like this. Pastors and other leaders may not want to talk about this subject, but there is something we all can do. Chick tracts on homosexuality pull no punches. They deliver God’s view without hiding anything. And most importantly, they get read. We can be leaving these everywhere so that people of all ages can read them, and be warned.    • Obama directed the Department of Justice to STOP defending the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA), a duly enacted law of Congress.
   • Obama allows homosexuals to serve openly in the military, reversing a policy originally instituted by George Washington in March 1778. The Obama Pentagon has directed that military chaplains may perform same-sex marriages on military bases, in violation of DOMA.
   • Obama deliberately OMITS the phrase “endowed by their Creator” when quoting the Declaration of Independence – an omission he has made on no less than seven occasions.
   • The Air Force (under the Obama watch) removed “God” from the motto of the Rapid Capabilities unit. (February, 2012) • Obama outright defied a Supreme Court ruling that the Mojave Desert Cross should be put back near the Memorial.

In the days before the vote, members of President Barack Obama's cabinet expressed support for gay marriage and former President Bill Clinton recorded phone messages urging voters to reject the amendment Meanwhile, supporters ran their own ad campaigns and church leaders urged Sunday congregations to vote for the amendment. This is the sad reality that seniors face and it will get worse. President Obama saw to that when he signed the Affordable Care Act (ACA,Obamacare) 2 years ago. So when, at a recent press conference, he threw down the gauntlet and warned the Supreme Court not to overturn the ACA because doing so will destroy Medicare, he has gone back to his playbook; creating a scapegoat to deflect attention away from his mistakes and shortcomings.
   ...The problems with access to care will create a medical tsunami. There is already a critical shortage of doctors in America. Drastic cuts are in store for physicians who accept Medicare, which is why doctors have been limiting their practices to new Medicare patients or dropping the program altogether. The Medicare reimbursement to physicians is already at 60% of commercial insurance and is scheduled to be cut dramatically in the near future. This is the case, despite the fact that physician reimbursement only accounts for 9-12% of overall Medicare spending. Physicians unfortunately are what are referred to as the “low hanging fruit”- the easiest ones to target with cuts. When this occurs, your Medicare card will simply give you the right to wait in a very long line to see your doctor if you can find one.

o Immigration Front: Subsidizing (PatriotPost.us) Illegals Illegal aliens are taking advantage of the "additional child tax credit" when filing tax returns and they're getting some $4.2 billion in refunds for their small effort. Illegals who work in the U.S. are required to file taxes using an Individual Taxpayer Identification Number, and there are two million illegal aliens claiming credits for dependents -- including nieces and nephews -- who don't even live in the U.S., all in order to get thousands of dollars in returns. In one case in southern Indiana, four workers claiming residence in a single trailer claimed 20 dependent children. Those children all still live in Mexico, but the workers still got almost $30,000. When asked about this, one worker said that if the opportunity is there, why not take it? Free money -- what's not to like? The IRS has known about the problem for years, including receiving many warnings from the Treasury Department's Inspector General for Tax Administration, but hasn't done anything to stop it. And why should they? It's not costing them anything.

If it's true that wind farms actually contribute to global warming, the very thing that they supposedly combat, then there may be no reason to build these gigantic bird-killing Cuisinarts in the first place.
   Worse yet, Solyndra, the bankrupt solar-panel producer that was the Obama administration's poster child for a clean energy revolution, has also become an environmental blight. The company appears to be walking away from an undetermined amount of hazardous chemicals stored at its closed plant in Milpitas, California. Solyndra doesn't want to (and can't) pay for the proper disposal of the chemicals, which now sit in barrels in a hazardous storage area.

This has NOTHING to do with homeland security by the wildest stretch of the imagination and yet it is, according to DHS, federal policy. It gets its authority from Executive Order 12898 and this is the way government expands and expands and expands beyond what citizens expect or request. The results are always predictable. Ordinary people who just want to be left alone discover that the government has defined the ownership of their land and property as a criminal act.

o Australia vs. the United States: Two Charts that Tell You Everything You Need to Know about Social Security Reform By Daniel J. Mitchell - There are two serious problems with America’s Social Security system. Almost everyone knows about the first problem, which is that the system is bankrupt, with huge unfunded liabilities of about $30 trillion. The other crisis is that the system gives workers a lousy level of retirement income compared to the amount of taxes they pay during their working years. Younger workers are particularly disadvantaged, as are African-Americans because of lower life expectancy. These are critical issues, but perhaps looking at a couple of charts is the best way to illustrate why the Social Security system is inadequate. Let’s start by looking at some numbers from Australia, where workers set aside 9 percent of their income in personal retirement accounts. This system, which was made universal by the Labor Party beginning in the 1980s, has turned every Australian worker into a capitalist and generated private wealth of nearly 100 percent of GDP. Here’s a chart, based on data from the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority. Now let’s look at one of the key numbers generated by America’s tax-and-transfer entitlement system. Here’s a chart showing the projected annual cash-flow deficits for the Social Security system, based on the just-released Trustees’ Report. By the way, the chart shows inflation-adjusted 2012 dollars. The numbers would look far worse if I used the nominal numbers. The two charts aren’t analogous, of course, but that’s because there’s nothing to compare. The Social Security system has no savings. Indeed, it discourages people from setting aside income. And Australia’s superannuation system doesn’t have anything akin to America’s unfunded liabilities. The closest thing to an analogy would be the safety net provision guaranteeing a basic pension to people with limited savings (presumably because of a spotty employment record). So now ask yourself whether Australia should copy America or America should copy Australia? Seems like a no-brainer.

So we checked the link on Boston.com for the article, and sure enough, where there had once been a poll, there was nothing. We will be the first the admit that online polls are unscientific and demonstrate little more than the organizational strength of the winning side. However, we also think it is disingenuous for the Boston Globe to simply remove the poll without warning, instead of closing it and allowing people to view the results. The fact that the Boston Globe is on the opposing side of the issue cannot be ignored either. I have personally written a letter to the editor asking why the decision was made.

It said, "U.S. Firms Add Jobs, but Mostly Overseas." Just as there is no free lunch, there is no free class warfare. Some people may be inspired by President Obama's talk about making "the rich" pay their undefined "fair share" of taxes, or taking away corporations' "tax breaks." But talk is not always cheap. It can be very costly to those working people who are looking for jobs that the Obama administration's anti-business policies are driving overseas. According to the Wall Street Journal, "Thirty-five big U.S.-based multinational companies added jobs much faster than other U.S. employers in the past two years, but nearly three-fourths of those jobs were overseas." All these companies have at least 50,000 employees, so we are talking about a lot of jobs for foreigners with American companies overseas. If the Wall Street Journal can figure this out, it seems certain that the President of the United States has economic advisers who can figure out the same thing. But that does not mean that the president is interested in the same thing. ...The phrase "tax cuts for the rich" has been repeated endlessly by Democrats without one Republican that I know of saying, "Folks, I don't lie awake at night worrying about millionaires' tax problems. Millionaires have lawyers and accountants who get paid to do that. But I do worry about jobs being lost to millions of American workers because we make the business climate here worse than in other countries. That's a high price to pay for rhetoric." The case can be made. But somebody has to make the case.

Many people, who do not look beyond the vision or the rhetoric to the reality, still think of labor unions as protectors of working people from their employers. And union bosses still employ that kind of rhetoric. However, someone once said, "When I speak I put on a mask, but when I act I must take it off." That mask has been coming off, more and more, especially during the Obama administration, and what is revealed underneath is very ugly, very cynical and very dangerous. First there was the grossly misnamed "Employee Free Choice Act" that the administration tried to push through Congress. What it would have destroyed was precisely what it claimed to be promoting -- a free choice by workers as to whether or not they wanted to join a labor union. ...the union can spend months, or whatever amount of time it takes, for them to prepare and implement an organizing campaign beforehand -- and then suddenly announce a deadline date for the decision on having or not having a union. The union organizers can launch their full-court press before the employers have time to organize a comparable counter-argument or the workers have time to weigh their decision, while being pressured. The last thing this process is concerned about is a free choice for workers. The first thing it is concerned about is getting a captive group of union members, whose compulsory dues provide a large sum of money to be spent at the discretion of union bosses, to provide those bosses with both personal perks and political power to wield, on the basis of their ability to pick and choose where to make campaign contributions from the union members' dues. ...But, so long as many people refuse to see the union for what it is, or the Obama administration for what it is, this cynical and corrupt process can continue.
o Eliminating The Competition By Alan Sears - If there is a single defining feature of those on the political Left, it is their unswerving conviction that the best and most dependable antidote to any social ill is a healthy dose of government intervention. “Big Brother is watching you” doesn’t ring as an ominous threat in their ears; it’s the warm assurance of ultimate security and protection. This inevitably puts them at odds with the biblical conviction, cherished by Christians, that individuals – not governments – are primarily responsible for themselves and each other. Individually and as churches, Christians are commissioned to minister in Christ’s name to the impoverished and imprisoned, widowed and orphaned, hungry and distressed (Matthew 25). ...The government cloaks its anti-church legal maneuverings as enforcement of the imaginary “separation of church and state” clause that the Left likes to pretend is in the Constitution. But it’s hard not to believe that the state’s real objection to Christian charity is that every church committed to social service eliminates that much more need for government bureaus and subsidies and commissions and tax-payer funded initiatives. Ultimately, a more active church erodes the need for bigger government … and to the Left, nothing is more important than bigger government. People who look to God for answers (especially a God Who believes in free will) feel less need to depend on elected officials for moral guidance, much less social and economic rehabilitation. That makes them more free – which once upon a time was the Big Idea in America. Today, it just makes believers a threat to the dominance of the state, and their God stiff competition for the souls of the citizenry. And if you haven’t noticed: our ever growing government doesn’t like competition.

When Reagan signed the Economic Recovery Act at his ranch in 1981, it was the largest tax cut in American history. And it was a massive success. Jobs were created. In 15 months in 1983-84 job growth was 4,655,000, while in the comparable 15 months in 2011-12 it was 2,475,000, just a little more than half as many. The average GDP during Ronald Reagan’s 4th year in office was a whopping 7.75%.

SEIU will mobilize another 200,000 members with the same goal,” Fishman claimed.

Gottlieb, an American Enterprise Institute resident fellow, says these low-income people who are elderly or have disabilities will be uprooted from the tried-and-true Medicare fold and “herded” into state-run Medicaid plans as another phase of Obamacare grips the nation. “It’s hard to see how they’ll be better off in bare-bones, and sometimes poorly-run state Medicaid plans than by getting access to Medicare options they were entitled to before Obamacare,” Dr. Gottlieb lamented on Friday.

The Kansas Family Policy Council (KFPC) has been collecting petition signatures from people in those towns who feel adding “sexual orientation” and “gender identity” to existing civil rights ordinances is a step that actually discriminates against churches. Many fear such laws trample religious liberties and freedom of conscience, and that privacy and safety issues regarding gender-segregated facilities will be ignored. On Monday, the group delivered 344 petition signatures to the Salina City Commission. Within hours, the local newspaper had a copy of the petition and had published on its website the names, addresses, phone numbers and email addresses of all the people who signed it. ...The reporter got that information from the city manager, and published the complete scanned document as a sidebar to his story on the meeting. Unredacted petitions delivered at a public meeting are public record — so no laws were broken in the transaction.
