"Created in His Image" - Trinity
To him that has ears to hear, let him hear.
Romans 10:17 - So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Who "inspired" the Word of God? (2 Peter 1:20) Who "reveals" the Word of God? (Job 32:8-10)
And this is eternal life, that they would know You, the only true God, and Whom You sent, Y’shua Messiah. (John 17:3)
Summary: We are created in the image of God's threefold Trinity, of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, a threefold being, "body, soul, and spirit" where it is through our spirit that the Holy Spirit teaches and reveals knowing God and Jesus, which is Eternal Life, and why the Kingdom of God is defined as "righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."
The Foundation: Knowing the Father and the Son
"We do not know God with our flesh, with our hands or with our brains. We know
God with our spirit." --John G Lake (Spiritual Hunger, The God-Men)
John 4:24 - God is spirit, and it is necessary for those who worship Him to
worship in spirit and in truth.
John 6:63 - "It is the spirit that quickens; the flesh profits nothing: the
words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life."
Luke 17:20-21 - And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of
God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God comes not
with observation: Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for,
behold, the Kingdom of God is within you.
John 14:15-17 - If you love Me, you will keep My commandments: and I will ask
the Father and, so that He would be with you forever, He will give you
another Comforter, the Spirit of Truth, Whom the world is not able to
accept, because it does not see and does not know Him: you know Him, because
He remains beside you and will be inside you.
Romans 8:11 - And if the Spirit of the One Who raised Y’shua from the dead
dwells in you, the One Who raised Messiah from the dead will also make alive
your mortal bodies through His Spirit because He abides within you.
Romans 14:17 - "For the Kingdom of God is not food and drink, but
righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit."
1 John 4:4 - Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because
greater is He that is in you, than he that is in the world.
1 Corinthians 3:16-17 - If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God
destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple you are. Know ye not
that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?
1 Corinthians 6:19 - What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the
Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?
The threefold makeup of God
Colossians 2:9 -
"In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." (Genesis 1:1) The
Hebrew word for God is Elohim, which is plural, but the verb is singular to
show that Elohim is the Majestic Plural, including His Spirit and His
Incarnate Body, Jesus, which Paul revealed: "For in Him dwells all the
fullness of the Godhead bodily."
John 14:8-11 -
Jesus also when questioned by Philip: “Lord, show us the Father, and it is
sufficient for us.” Jesus said to him, “Have I been
with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me
has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’? Do you not
believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I
speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells
in Me does the works. Believe Me that I am in the Father and the Father in
Me, or else believe Me for the sake of the works themselves.
John 1:1,1:14 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and
the Word was God. ... And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and
we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father) full
of grace and truth.
1 John 5:7-8 - For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the
Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that
bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these
three agree in one.
"God made mankind to be a spirit being in a natural body with a natural mind
and a free will. At the time of man's creation, Spirit God breathed life
into man." --Ron
McGatlin
Genesis 1:26-27 -
Then God said, “We will make mankind in our image, after our likeness and have
dominion over the fish of the sea, over the fowl of the air, over the
cattle, over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon
the earth.” So God created mankind in His own image; He created him in the
image of God. He created them male and female.
1 Thessalonians 5:23 -
Paul describes man's threefold makeup when he declares, "I pray God your whole
spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord
Jesus Christ."
Genesis 2:7 - And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and
breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living
soul.
Job 10:11 - You have clothed me with skin and flesh and have knit me with
bones and sinews.
Ecclesiastes 12:7 -
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the
spirit shall return unto God who gave it.
1 Corinthians 15:50 -
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the Kingdom of
God; neither does corruption inherit incorruption.
John 11:25 -
Y'shua said to her, "I AM the Resurrection and the Life: the one
who believes in Me, even if he would die, he will live."
John 14:1-3 - Your heart must not be troubled: you must constantly believe in
God and you must faithfully believe in Me. In My Father’s house are many
dwelling places: and if it were not so, would I tell you that I am going to
prepare a place for you? And if I would go, then I shall prepare a place for
you. I am coming again and I shall take you along with Me, so that where I AM
you would also be.
2 Corinthians 5:1-10 - For we know that if our earthly house we live in of this
tent (earthly body) would be destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal
house (a resurrected body) in the heavens not made by human hands. For indeed we
sigh in this our dwelling, longing to put on, for ourselves, the one
(resurrected body) from heaven, then indeed, if we have been clothed we will not
be found naked. For indeed we, who are in the tent, sigh, being oppressed,
because of which we do not wish to be unclothed but to be clothed, so that our
mortal being would be swallowed up by life. And the One Who has worked this same
thing in us is God, the One Who gave us the pledge of the Spirit. Therefore,
since we are always confident, and knowing that when we are at home in the body
we are getting away from the Lord: because we are walking by faith, not by
sight: but we are confident; we even rather prefer to leave from the body and to
be at home with the Lord. For this reason then we strive earnestly, whether when
we are at home or when we are away, to be well pleasing to Him. For it is
necessary for us all to be revealed before the judgment seat of the Messiah, so
that each would receive the things according to what he accomplished with his
body, whether good or evil.
The role of man's spirit
Job 32:8-10, 38:36 - “But there is a spirit in man: and the inspiration of the
Almighty gives them understanding. Great men are not always wise: neither do the
aged understand judgment. Therefore I say, Listen to me! I will also show my
knowledge. ...Who has put wisdom in the inward parts? Or, who has given
understanding to the heart?”
"Knowledge unenlightened by the truth of God is dark knowledge. We may have a
B.S., an M.S., and a Ph.D., but without the Lord all we have is dark
information. It may help navigate us in the world of darkness, but by itself
will never lead us to the truth. Apart from the revelation of the Spirit of God,
none of us could ever find our way into the light. Darkly educated people are
like those whom Paul described to his young protoge', Timothy, as 'always
learning but never able to acknowledge the truth.'"
(2
Timothy 3:7) --Myles Munroe "Rediscovering the Kingdom"
“The spirit of man is the candle of the Lord searching all the inward parts of
the heart” (Proverbs 20:27), and is also referred to as the "inner man" or
"hidden man of the heart" (1 Samuel 16:7 - Ephesians 3:15-19 - 1 Peter 3:4
-
Ecclesiastes 12:7).
God's plan is not for you to get into heaven, God's plan is for Him to live in
you.
"Inspiration of the Almighty" is revealed by the Holy Spirit to "know" God and
to "know the deep things of God"
Matthew 11:25-30 - At that time Jesus answered and said, I
thank You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hid these things
from the wise and prudent, and have revealed them unto babes. Even so, Father:
for so it seemed good in Your sight. All things are delivered unto Me of my
Father: and no man
knows the Son, but the Father; neither
knows any man the Father, save the Son, and he to
whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
Come unto me,
all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke
upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find
rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. 1 Corinthians 2:6-16 - “But God has revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the
Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knows the
things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of
God knows no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received, not the spirit of
the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that
are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words
which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing
spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receives not the things of
the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them,
because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judges all
things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who has known the mind of the
Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.” Philippians 2:5 - Let this mind be in you all, which was
also in Christ Jesus... "Because of our lack of understanding, we have always viewed
the spiritual world as that which is to come. ...Jesus told the religionists in
days gone by, the deep spiritual truths and yet they did not have ears to hear.
They were down in the flesh realm and He was in the realm of the Spirit. The
moment He said anything they could not analyze with their critical minds, they
rejected rejected His statement and repudiated Him." --"Made Alive" - By
Charles
S. Price Isaiah 11:1-4 - And there will come forth a shoot out of the
trunk of Jesse, and a Branch will grow out of his roots: (Matthew 2:23 -
Revelation 5:5, 22:16) and the Spirit of the LORD will rest upon Him, the Spirit
of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and
might, the Spirit of knowledge and of the reverence and awe of the
LORD. (Revelation 5:6) And He will be filled with a Spirit of awesome
reverence for the LORD. He will not judge after the sight of His eyes, nor
decide after the hearing of His ears... Isaiah 55:6-11 - You must seek the LORD* while He may be
found, call to Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way and the
unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return to the LORD* and He will have
mercy upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon. For My thoughts
are not your thoughts, neither are your ways My Ways, says the LORD*. For as the
heavens are higher than the earth, so are My Ways higher than your ways and My
thoughts higher than your thoughts. For as the rain and the snow come down from
heaven and do not return there, but water the earth and make it bring forth and
bud so it will give seed to the sower and bread to the eater, so My word will go
forth out of My mouth: it will not return to Me empty-handed,2 but it will
accomplish that which I please and it will succeed wherever I send it. Ephesians 3:14-19 - On this account I bend my knees to the
Father, from Whom every family in the heavens and on the earth receives its
name, so that He would give to you according to the riches of His glory to be
strengthened in power by His Spirit working in your inner man, to make the
Messiah live in your hearts through faith, when you have been rooted and
established in love, so that you would be able to seize, with all the
consecrated ones, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to
know the love of the Messiah that surpasses our knowledge, so that you would be
filled with all the fullness of God.
We must be Born Again of God's Spirit "You cannot be born a Christian. Jesus says
'you must be born again.'" (John 3:3-7) --
Greg
Laurie Matthew 6:33 - But seek
ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all
these things shall be added unto you. Romans 14:17 - For the Kingdom of God is not food and drink,
but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Luke 17:20-21 - And when he was demanded of the Pharisees,
when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said,
The kingdom of God comes not with observation: Neither
shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within
you. John 1:12-13 - And so many as did take Him,
He gave them authority to become children of God, to those who
believed in His name, they are not from blood and not from the
desire of flesh and not from the will of man but were begotten
from God. John 3:3-7 - Y’shua answered and said to him, “Most
definitely I say to you, unless someone would have been born from above, he is
not able to see the Kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How is a man able
to be born when he is in old age? Is he able to enter his mother’s womb and be
born a second time?” Y’shua answered, “Most certainly I say to you, unless
someone would have been born out of water and Spirit he is not able to enter the
Kingdom of God. What has been born of the flesh is flesh, and what has been born
of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be astonished that I said to you, ‘It is
necessary for you to be born from above.’ John 4:14 - Whoever would drink from the water which I shall
give him, will never thirst, but the water which I shall give him will become in
him well water springing up into eternal life.” John 7:37-39 - And on the final Sabbath day of the feast
Y’shua stood and cried out saying, “If anyone would thirst he must continually
come to Me and he must continually drink. The one who believes in Me, just as
the Scripture said, rivers of living water will flow out from his inner being.”
(Proverbs 10:11, 18:4, 20:5; Isaiah 58:11) And He said this about the
Spirit, which those who believed in Him were about to take: for the Spirit was
not yet given, because Y’shua was not yet glorified.
Baptism in the Holy Spirit John 16:12-13 - I have yet many things to
tell you, but you cannot bear them now. But when the Spirit of truth comes, He
will guide you into all truth. John 20:21-22 - Then said Jesus to them again,
“Peace be
unto you: as my Father has sent me, even so send I you.” And when he had said
this, he breathed on them, and said unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: Matthew 28:19 - Go therefore and make disciples of all
nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit... The Way
There is only One Way to KNOW the Father - by KNOWING Jesus (John 14:9)
There is only One Way to KNOW Jesus - by KNOWING the WORD. (John 1:1,14)
There is only One Way to KNOW the WORD - by having the Spirit reveal the WORD.
(1 Corinthians 2:10-16)
There is only One Way to HAVE the Spirit - Be born again of the Spirit (John 3:3-6)
There is only One Way to be filled with the Spirit - Baptism in the Holy Spirit
(John 1:33 - Acts 19:2-7)
There is a difference between receiving the Holy Spirit and being
filled with the Holy Spirit. There is only One Way to receive and have the
Spirit: To be born again of the Spirit (John 3:3-7). There is only One Way to be
filled with the Spirit: Baptism in the Holy Spirit
(John 1:33 - Luke 24:49 - Acts 1:4-5 - Acts 2:4 - Acts 8:14-17 - Acts 10:44-47 - Acts 19:2-7)
Set Free
John 8:34-36 - Y’shua answered them, “I most definitely say
to you that everyone who commits sin is a slave of sin. And the slave does not
stay in the house forever, the son does stay forever. If therefore the Son would
set you free, you will truly be free."
Romans 7:24-25 - Wretched man that I am: who will rescue me from this body of
death? But thanks to God He will through Y’shua Messiah our Lord. So then this –
on the one hand in my mind I am serving the Torah of God, but on the other hand
in the flesh I serve the law of sin.
1 Peter 3:18 - Because Messiah also once suffered concerning sin, the righteous
One on behalf of the unjust, so that He could bring you to God when He did
indeed die in the flesh, but then was made alive by the Spirit:
Galatians 5:1 - Messiah set us free for the freedom from legalism: so you must
stand firm and not be subjected again to a yoke of bondage.
Galatians 3:2-3 - Only this one thing I wish to learn from you: did you take the
Spirit from works of legalism or from hearing in faith? In this way you are
foolish, although you began in the Spirit, will you now be made complete in the
flesh?
Galatians 4:6-9 - And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of
His Son into your hearts, crying out, “Abba, Father!” Therefore you are no
longer a slave but a son, and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. But
then, indeed, when you did not know God, you served those which by nature are
not gods. But now after you have known God, or rather are known by God, how is
it that you turn again to the weak and beggarly elements, to which you desire
again to be in bondage?
Empowered by the Holy Spirit
Consider Peter who denied Christ after the Day of Pentecost: “Now when
they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were
unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of
them, that they had been with Jesus.” (Acts 4:13)
Empowered By The Holy Spirit - By Derek Prince - Have you ever
considered the fact that Jesus needed the
Holy
Spirit, just as we do? Jesus never took credit for Himself, but
attributed His whole ministry to the presence of the Holy Spirit. ...If
Jesus needed the Holy Spirit, surely we do! Nothing can take His place.
...The first and most significant fact about the Holy Spirit is
that He a Person, a very important Person! It is absolutely essential
for believers to embrace this truth. He is not just an influence, a
doctrine, or a theological abstraction. The Holy Spirit is a Person, as
real as your own father or mother or son or daughter.
...What Is the Dove Looking For? As the Dove descended over the crowd
of people that day, what was He looking for? The Lamb of God. What is
the Dove looking for today? He is looking for the nature of the Lamb
Jesus' nature. If we cultivate the nature of the Lamb, the Holy Spirit
will find us, descend on us, and remain on us. There are three
Scriptural characteristics of the nature of a lamb: purity, meekness
(humility), and sacrifice, a life laid down. When the Holy Spirit finds
that nature in a person, that is where He chooses to settle and remain.
He does not approve of arrogance, self-seeking, boastfulness, or
aggressiveness. Those are characteristics of the nature of the Beast.
Acts 2:38-39 - Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every
one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye
shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you,
and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the
Lord our God shall call.
Racism does not exist in the Kingdom of God
If we are to "know no man after the flesh..." (2 Corinthians 5:16), then by
default we are to know man after his spirit.
We are all made in the womb by God. (Job 31:15)
But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height,
for I have rejected him (Eliab for David). The Lord does not look at the
things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord
looks at the heart." (1 Samuel 16:7)
"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 2:5)
Considering this is how Jesus looked upon each and every individual where His
concerns are for both our worldly and eternal life. The Apostle Paul’s
admonition makes it abundantly clear and implores us to “know no man after
the flesh.”
Isaiah 11:4 - He will judge the poor with righteousness (Revelation 19:11) and
decide with equity for the humble of the earth and He will strike the earth
with the rod of His mouth, and with the breath of His lips He will slay the
wicked. (Ephesians 6:17)
The unforgivable sin
Matthew 12:30-32 - The one who is not with Me is
against Me, and the one who does not gather with Me is scattering. Because
of this I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven to mankind,
but the blasphemy of the Spirit will not be forgiven. And if someone would
speak a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him: but whoever
would speak against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven to him either
in this age or in the one coming.
Hebrews 6:4 - For it is impossible for those who were
once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made
partakers of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 19:2 - Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and
the communion (fellowship) of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen. 2 Corinthians 13:14
