The Biblical precept that sovereign nations have boundaries, dictate permission to enter, to righteously protect and defend that nation's inhabitants, for the same reason personal property has boundaries, as the walls and fences around the properties of Soros & Pelosi do.

Camarota, Bryan Griffith, and Karen Zeigler on June 20, 2023 - ...The findings show that, in many areas, immigration has an enormous effect on schools. The share of students from households headed by an immigrant (legal or illegal) is so large in parts of the country that it raises profound questions about assimilation. What’s more, immigrant households tend to have more students in school on average than households headed by the U.S.-born. A larger share of students from immigrant households also come from low-income families and speak a foreign language at home. This likely creates significant challenges for many schools, often in areas that are already struggling to educate students who come from disadvantaged backgrounds. ...The 11 million public school students from immigrant households represent an enormous share of school enrollment in the United States. Clearly, how these children do is vitally important not only to them, but to our country’s future. But their impact raises important questions for immigration policy. First, the fiscal and other challenges immigration creates for schools at the local level should at least be considered by policy-makers when setting immigration policy, including efforts to control illegal immigration. Equally significant, the scale of immigration has important implications for the successful assimilation of immigrants and their children.

Swedish Prime Minister: “Massive Immigration Just Doesn’t Work” Announces new measures to make border policy strictest in Europe. ..PM Kristersson wrote, "Let me be clear: Massive immigration and poor integration just doesn’t work. That is why we are now changing Sweden’s migration policy and making it the strictest in the EU. A ‘no’ to asylum means ‘no’ and you have to leave the country. That should be obvious, but it’s not. Equally important, a ‘yes’ should mean that you really get involved in Swedish society." He added that until now, “there has been absolutely no expectation that anyone who comes to Sweden will really learn our language,” which is the “glue that binds us together.” ...For reference, having been one of the safest countries in Europe 20 years ago before mass uncontrolled immigration, Sweden is now the continent’s second most dangerous in terms of gun crime, second only to Croatia. In 2021, Germany’s Bild newspaper ran the headline: ‘Sweden is the most dangerous country in Europe.’ The consequences of uncontrolled mass immigration have been so dire that Ukrainian refugees fleeing a legitimate war expressed the desire to avoid being sent to Sweden, stating it was too unsafe.

America’s Founders Didn’t Support Open Borders, And Neither Should We - By: Helen Raleigh - From the very beginning, even in the absence of immigration law, the founders knew America had to set boundaries. Their top three concerns were the qualifications, assimilation, and allegiance of newcomers. The founders emphasized the moral character and contributions newcomers would bring.  Not only should new migrants have good moral character, but they should also place “high importance to the respectability and character of the American name” and do their best to “preserve its good fame from injury,” as Rep. James Jackson, a Democratic-Republican from Georgia, said in 1790. The founding generation didn’t want convicts and criminals as new immigrants.   ...George Washington expressed a similar concern: that immigration does not benefit America when immigrants congregate and “retain their language, habits and principles (good or bad) which they bring with them.” Instead, he firmly believed that new immigrants or their descendants should, “by an intermixture with our people … get assimilated to our customs, measures and laws: in a word, soon become one people.”

   ...Assimilation Strengthens and Protects: The United States was founded upon specific ideas and moral principles, as expressed by the eloquent words of the Declaration of Independence. Thomas Jefferson believed that “it is for the happiness of those united in society to harmonize as much as possible in matters which they must of necessity transact together.”   He feared that if new immigrants believed different ideas, then “with their language, they will transmit [them] to their children. In proportion to their numbers, they will share with us the legislation. They will infuse into it their spirit, warp and bias its direction, and render it a heterogeneous, incoherent, distracted mass.”    

    ...Immigrants Must Pledge Allegiance: No matter what drives them to America, some immigrants retain residual loyalty to their countries and cultures of birth. To become Americans, the founders believed immigrants needed to give up prior allegiances and pledge an oath of fidelity to the U.S. In Alexander Hamilton’s words:   The safety of a republic depends essentially on the energy of a common national sentiment; on a uniformity of principles and habits; on the exemption of citizens from foreign bias and prejudice; and on the love of country which will almost invariably be found to be closely connected with birth, education, and family.   (See Foundation below for Founder's quotes and  more.)

   ...As late as 2006, there were still liberals who cared about the economic effects of immigration, legal or illegal. Mainly, that means better controls on illegal immigration." That same year, Senator Hillary Clinton voted for a fence on the Mexican border. So did Barack Obama and Chuck Schumer and 23 other Senate Democrats.
   ...So, what changed? Not the economics of it. The law of supply and demand remained in effect. It's not a coincidence
that as illegal immigration surged, wages for American workers stagnated. What changed is that Democrats stopped caring about those workers. About the middle class, really. Why? Here's the answer, in four simple facts.
1. According to a recent study from Yale, there are at least 22 million illegal immigrants living in the United States.
2. Democrats plan to give all of them citizenship. Read the Democrats 2016 party platform.
3. Studies show the overwhelming majority of first-time immigrant voters vote Democrat.
4. The biggest landslide in American presidential history was only 17 million votes.

The payoff for Democrats: permanent electoral majority for the foreseeable future. In a word: power. That's the point, no matter what they tell you; American workers be damned.
 

March 2023: HoHouse Dems Skip On-Site Border Meeting Labeling it “a political stunt” -By Douglas Andrews - ...House Democrats on the Homeland Security Committee abdicated their constitutional responsibility. ..What the cartels do is when they sneak people in, they put them in stash houses," said Tennessee Republican Congressman Mark Green after a recent trip to the border with House GOP freshmen. "And then to pay the cartel back, those people have to commit crimes in the United States — basically sell or traffic drugs or people. Well, if you refuse to do that, you wind up dead. And this one woman did, and she was raped, scalped, and dropped at an elementary school in the United States." So the border crisis isn't just about the 5.6 million illegals we've encountered at our southern border during Joe Biden's disastrous tenure, or the 1.1 million additional border crossers who got away without being apprehended. ...Article 4, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution states, "The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion."  

Yes, Unvetted Illegal Caravans Threaten Public Health - By Michelle Malkin - ...I find it especially bizarre that some of the same outspoken, big government advocates for vaccinating every American citizen, young or old, against every possible condition, from the flu to chickenpox to HPV, are the same types now howling over the commonsense idea that we should protect ourselves from foreign diseases.
   ..Moreover, the Centers for Disease Control, not Fox News or the Trump White House or any other evil conservatives, reports that "most experts agree that testing for TB, hepatitis B, and HIV should be performed for most new arrivals to the United States. Clinicians should also make a habit of ensuring that this screening has been done for every new non-US-born patient they see, regardless of time since the person's arrival."
   Actual public health experts across the Southwest have reported rises in drug-resistant TB and dengue fever. In June, Australian public health researchers reported that "scabies, long considered a disease of the past in the developed world, is making its way back." The scientists pointed to mass global migration as a leading factor, noting scabies outbreaks among refugees to the European Union and along America's southern border.
   And in Germany, federal epidemiologists reported that since opening the floodgates to migrants in 2015, data show "increased incidences in Germany of adenoviral conjunctivitis, botulism, chicken pox, cholera, cryptosporidiosis, dengue fever, echinococcosis, enterohemorrhagic E. coli, giardiasis, haemophilus influenza, Hantavirus, hepatitis, hemorrhagic fever, HIV/AIDS, leprosy, louse-borne relapsing fever, malaria, measles, meningococcal disease, meningoencephalitis, mumps, paratyphoid, rubella, shigellosis, syphilis, toxoplasmosis, trichinellosis, tuberculosis, tularemia, typhus and whooping cough."

Transcript: Every sensible immigration policy has two objectives: 1) to regain control of our borders so that we decide who enters; and 2) to find a humane way to deal with the 11 million illegal immigrants who now live among us. Start with the second. For both practical and moral reasons, America cannot and will not and should not expel 11 million people.  That leaves us with two choices: ignore them or figure out a way to legalize them. Ignoring them hasn't worked. But there is also a huge problem with legalization: it creates an irresistible incentive for new illegal immigrants to come.
&n   We say, of course, that this will be the very last, very final, never-again, we're-not-kidding-this-time amnesty. And everyone knows it's phony. That's what was said in 1986, when we passed the Simpson-Mazzoli immigration reform. It turned out to be the largest legalization program in American history -- nearly 3 million people got permanent residency. There was no enforcement. We now have 11 million new illegal immigrants in our midst. The irony of this whole debate, which bitterly splits the country, is that there is a silver bullet that would not just solve the problem, but also create a national consensus behind it.
   A vast number of Americans who oppose legalization and fear new waves of immigration would change their minds if we could radically reduce new -- i.e., future -- illegal immigration. And we can. First, build a barrier. Call it a wall. Call it a fence. Call it what you will. Add cameras and sensors. Add drones. Beef up the patrols. All that matters is that we regain control of the border. Fences work. The triple fence outside San Diego led to a 90 percent reduction in infiltration. Israel's border fence with the West Bank produced a similar decline. Even holier-than-thou Europeans have conceded the point: Hungary, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Austria, Greece, Spain, why, even Norway -- have all started building border fences to stem the tide of Middle Eastern refugees.
  
Then enforce two other measures: a national E-Verify system that makes it just about impossible to work if you are here illegally, and a functioning visa tracking system, since 40% of illegal immigrants are visa overstays.
The wall/fence will, of course, be ugly. So are the concrete barriers to keep truck bombs from driving into the White House. Sometimes function has to supersede form. And don't tell me that this is our Berlin Wall. When you build a wall to keep people in, that's a prison. When you build a wall to keep people out, that's an expression of sovereignty.
   Of course, no barrier will be foolproof. But it doesn't have to be. It simply has to reduce the river to a manageable trickle. Once we do, everything becomes possible -- including dealing with our 11 million illegal immigrants. So, let's fix that. Track the visas, do E-Verify, build the damn barrier. It's ridiculous to say that it can't be done. And who would certify that the border is back in our control? I would have a neutral party, perhaps a commission of retired jurists, issue the judgment. Once they do, we legalize the 11 million, granting them the right to stay and work here.
We can't give them citizenship. That's a bridge too far. You don't get to join the political destiny of the country by entering it illegally. But any children born here would be American -- which means that over time the issue resolves itself.
   The American people are legitimately angry at the price American society has paid due to illegal immigration. But they are also a generous people. Once they are assured that we do indeed control our borders, that anger will abate. A national consensus will emerge. Radical border control, followed by radical legalization. No mushy compromise. A solution requires two acts of national will: putting up a wall (along with E-Verify and visa tracking) and absorbing those who broke our laws to come to America.
   This is not a compromise meant to appease both sides without achieving anything. It's not some piece of hybrid legislation that arbitrarily divides illegals into those with five-year-old "roots" in America and those without, or some such mischief-making nonsense. If we do it right, not only will we solve the problem, we will get it done as one nation. 
 

Since 2007 Visa Overstays have Outnumbered Undocumented Border Crossers by a Half Millionspan> - - By Robert Warren Donald Kerwin Center for Migration Studies - Visa overstays exceeded illegal border crossings, Entries Without Inspection (EWI), every year since 2007, the report says, and 600,000 more overstays than EWIs have arrived since 2007. Most illegal immigrants in the U.S. come from Mexico, the DHS figures used to compile the report show, about one-third of them visa overstays. This translates into 4.5 million visa overstays from Mexico in the year that was studied. California has the largest number of overstays (890,000), followed by New York (520,000), Texas (475,000), and Florida (435,000). Not surprisingly, California and Texas have the biggest chunk of illegal border crossers from Mexico, with 1.7 million and 1.3 million respectively. Other states, such as Hawaii, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Pennsylvania, also have large numbers of visa overstays, the report states.  

Report: Nearly 1 in 5 U.S. Residents Now an Immigrant or Under 18 Child of an Immigrantspan> (7 Mar 2016) - By CAROLINE MAY - More than 61 million immigrants and their U.S.-born children under the age of 18 now reside in the United States, according to a new Center for Immigration Studies analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data. The CIS report estimates that of the 61 million total, three-fourths or 45.3 million, are legal immigrants and their children. The remaining 15.7 million are illegal immigrants and their children.  

Memo to GOP: Curb Immigration or Quit | Commentary (October 19, 2015) - By Sen. Jeff Sessions and Rep. Dave Brat - America is about to break every known immigration record. And yet you are unlikely to hear a word about it. The Census Bureau projects that the foreign-born share of the U.S. population will soon eclipse the highest levels ever documented, and will continue surging to new record highs each year to come. Yet activists and politicians who support unprecedented levels of immigration are never asked to explain how they believe such a policy will affect social stability, community cohesion or political assimilation. They can simply cry out, "We must pass immigration reform!" without ever explaining what they believe "immigration reform" means. Immigration reform should mean improvements to immigration policy to benefit Americans. But in Washington, immigration reform has devolved into a euphemism for legislation that opens America's borders, floods her labor markets and gives corporations the legal right to import new foreign workers to replace their existing employees at lower pay.  

Report: More than half of immigrants on welfare ( (September 7, 2015) - Alan Gomez - USAToday - About 51% of immigrant-led households receive at least one kind of welfare benefit, including Medicaid, food stamps, school lunches and housing assistance, compared to 30% for native-led households, according to the report from the Center for Immigration Studies, a group that advocates for lower levels of immigration. Those numbers increase for households with children, with 76% of immigrant-led households receiving welfare, compared to 52% for the native-born.  

No change in 35 years: Just 34% of Hispanic immigrants proficient in Englishspan> By PAUL BEDARD (November 12, 2015) Just 34 percent of Hispanic immigrants are proficient in English, the same percentage as in 1980, according to a new Pew Research Center survey. But the share of U.S.-born Hispanics who speak English "very well" is on the rise and high, at 89 percent. And that's important because U.S.-born Latinos outnumber foreign born by two-to-one. Said Pew in its latest survey on Hispanic trends, the "share of foreign-born Latinos who speak English proficiently is little changed since 1980, even though the number that is English-proficient has grown. In 2013, 34 percent of foreign-born Latinos spoke English proficiently, numbering 6.5 million. In 1980, that share was 31 percent and numbered 1.3 million."  

Record 63.2 million non-English speaking residents, surge in Arabic, Chinese, Spanish - By PAUL BEDARD (October 06, 2015) - More than one in five U.S. residents speak a language other than English at home, a record, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. In an analysis of the recent Census American Community Survey, a huge surge was recorded in those who speak Chinese, Spanish, Arabic and Urdu, Pakistan's national language. The report from the Center for Immigration Studies documented the growth of immigrants in the United States and provided evidence of concerns new immigrants are slow to assimilate into American culture, namely by speaking English at home.

After 1990, with the "extended family" legislation, the LEGAL  immigration level has been ONE MILLION a year AND the ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION level has also been ONE MILLION a year. &#'Operation Wetback' deported 1 million illegals with only 750 agents - By Ed Straker - President Eisenhower, however, deported a million alone in the space of a year, and with only 750 deportation agents, in an operation with a name we would never use today: Operation Wetback. Some 750 agents swept northward through agricultural areas with a goal of 1,000 apprehensions a day. By the end of July, over 50,000 aliens were caught... Another 488,000, fearing arrest, had fled the country. By September, 80,000 had been taken into custody in Texas, and an estimated 500,000 to 700,000 illegals had left the Lone Star State voluntarily. Unlike today, Mexicans caught in the roundup were not simply released at the border, where they could easily reenter the US. To discourage their return, Swing arranged for buses and trains to take many aliens deep within Mexico before being set free. Tens of thousands more were put aboard two hired ships, the Emancipation and the Mercurio. The ships ferried the aliens from Port Isabel, Texas, to Vera Cruz, Mexico, more than 500 miles south. The sea voyage was "a rough trip, and they did not like it," says Don Coppock, who worked his way up from Border Patrolman in 1941 to eventually head the Border Patrol from 1960 to 1973.

How Eisenhower solved illegal border crossings from Mexicospan - By John Dillin - As many as 3 million illegal migrants had walked and waded northward over a period of several years for jobs in California, Arizona, Texas, and points beyond. President Eisenhower cut off this illegal traffic. He did it quickly and decisively with only 1,075 United States Border Patrol agents, less than one-tenth of today's force. The operation is still highly praised among veterans of the Border Patrol.

14th Amendment - Section 1:  All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

"Anchor babies?"
The man who authored the amendment in 1866, Michigan Sen. Jacob M. Howard explained exactly what the scope of the law was, that it was referring to granting citizenship to the recently freed slaves only, not foreigners or even Native Americans. Howard wrote, "that every person born within the limits of the United States, and subject to their jurisdiction, is by virtue of natural law and national law a citizen of the United States." ..."This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens..." The 14th Amendment was created to confer citizenship upon only the former slaves who had recently been freed during the Civil War. It was not intended to be make a citizen of any person who just so happened to be born on U.S. soil to foreign parents in the country, legally or otherwise. 

Consequences of misinterpreting the 14th Amendment to the United States Constitutionpan> - Births to illegal alien mothers are adding more to the U.S. population each year than did immigration from all sources in an average year prior to 1965.

Random Thoughts By Thomas Sowell - Of all the arguments for giving amnesty to illegal immigrants, the most foolish is the argument that we can't find and expel all of them. There is not a law on the books that someone has not violated, including laws against murder, and we certainly have not found and prosecuted all the violators -- whether murderers or traffic law violators. But do we then legalize all the illegalities we haven't been able to detect and prosecute?

Theodore Roosevelt, railed repeatedly against "hyphenated Americans" and the prospect of a nation "brought to ruins" by a "tangle of squabbling nationalities." In a statement to the Kansas City Star in 1918: "Every immigrant who comes here should be required within five years to learn English or to leave the country, English should be the only language taught or used in the public schools." He also insisted that America has no room for what he called "fifty-fifty allegiance." In a 1917 speech said, "It is our boast that we admit the immigrant to full fellowship and equality with the native-born. In return we demand that he shall share our undivided allegiance to the one flag which floats over all of us." 

Calvin Coolidge - "Restricted immigration is not an offensive but purely a defensive action. It is not adopted in criticism of others in the slightest degree, but solely for the purpose of protecting ourselves. We cast no aspersions on any race or creed, but we must remember that every object of our institutions of society and government will fail unless America be kept American. American institutions rest solely on good citizenship. They were created by people who had a background of self-government.
